I have went to Dime's grave 2x within 2 wks and every time I go I get the chills thinking that 'A Great Man Rests Here.' Went to Ride for Dime '06, decorated his grave for his 40th B-day and had a great time working the ticket booth at the event. I love Dimebag and will not let his memory die. Getcha pull!!!!!

What can I say, Dime was truly my favorite guitar player of all time man. He was a musical genius. The things that he created on that guitar has hopefully leeached into my method of playing, and hopefully everyone's to carry on.
To Vinne P. Man, Im very sorry for you and your family's loss, God Bless you and give you the Strenth to Carry on.

It's taken me this long to find the words, and all I can come up with is this.
The most tragic loss to the metal world during my life, possibly ever. Riff in peace.

I was really pissed off when I heard that Darrel had died. The fan that murdered Darrel should be shot right in the mouth. Its been a whole year and 1/2 sice it happened and Im dont know when Ill get over it.

All I can do is cry every time I hear Dime's guitar playing now especially on Hollow and Cemetary Gates. I am glad that bastard that took Dime's life was killed but he should of lived so he could be arrested and tried in court accordingly. Dime you are truly missed, I hope your rippin it up there in heaven with Cliff Burton.

Mike

I haven't heard damageplan but I know pantera very well. When I first heard Pantera it was this screeching , painful riffs I could hear. It was fantastic. Dimebag was one of the most influential guitarists I've ever known. I would like to thank him because he taught us that life's too short but we have to do the things what we think is right and not what others tell us to do. RIP Dime...

i have always been a fan of heavy metal but no other band helped light that fire for me was Pantera. i came across Pantera at a very young age 3 years old when they released Cowboys From Hell, i would stay up and watch headbangers ball in my old house and wait for Pantera's Cowboys From Hell video show up.

in around 1992 when Pantera released Vulgar Display Of Power, it was from then i became a Pantera fan. Dimebag brought the best riffs and insane solos on both the Vulgar & Cowboys albums

i was shocked and surprised when Pantera split in 2003, and when Phil Anselmo was going in2 other bands like Down & Superjoint Ritual. when my mum and dad bought me my 1st guitar those words came straightup 'I WANNA BE LIKE DIMEBAG'. during the split period of Pantera, i immedialty bought 2 Pantera cds Vulgar & Cowboys. during my schooldays i would get picked on, beaten up etc etc, but Pantera was like my heavymetal sanctuary i would listen to those albums Vulgar & Cowboys again & again because i wanted those bullies to hear my words loud and clear.

when i heard Dime and Vinnie formed a new band called Damageplan in 2004 i was xcited because i thought to myself Dime & Vinnie will pull through no fuckin matter what. to keep the flame of heavymetal alive i bought Pantera's Far Beyond Driven & Southern Trendkill so i can delve deep in2 all thats heavy

Like Dimebag i also liked KISS & Van Halen which are my 2 favourite bands ever.

when i heard Dimebag was killed in Columbus Ohio in 2004 my heart just sanked i felt numb and upset it was like i lost a family member. as soon as i came home i went onto blabbermouth and just wept. i decided that i shuld buy the last Pantera cd Reinventing The Steel in Dimebag's honour. i had a party at my house full of my best college friends who i treat also like family members, i pulled out my acoustic guitar and played the opening riff of Cemetery Gates my friends were like amazed that i could pull the riff but instead of weeping and moaning i did an Irish wake, so we did that was drink beer and listen 2 Pantera and honour Dimebag

to Dimebag Darrell Lance Abbott thanx 4 those riffs and for living the heavymetal lifestyle if it werent for U and Pantera, i wouldnt be listening 2 metal

to Vinnie Paul Abbott i send my biggest hearfelt condolences and may God bless you and your family

Dimebag thank you for saving me from myself everytime i watch the vulgar videos DVD you always put a smile on my face and thank you again for inspiring me to play heavymetal man i dedicate this swig of Jagers for you

yours in metal and beyond love and bruises
